SHL - Trianel Windpark Borkum II

"Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum II" (TWBII) plans the erection of the second construction phase of the "Trianel Windpark Borkum" Offshore Wind Farm (OWF). In the first phase 40 offshore wind energy convertors (OWEC) were installed. The TWBII windfarm is located approximately 25 NM North of Borkum Island, within the German bight sector of the North Sea. The 203 Megawatt offshore wind farm comprises 32 Senvion 6.2M152 OWEC’s with rated power of 6.33 MW each and a hub height of 104.5m LAT. Each foundation consists of a mono pile and a transition piece with an integrated
electrical module included. Seaway Offshore Cables will supply and install the 33kV inter-array cables.

H2Offshore Engineering B.V. has been involved in the MP, TP and EM design package of the Engineering, Procurement, Commissioning and Installation (EPCI) project. This consists of the following activities:

  • Foundation design support for the MP, TP and EM during the design and fabrication phases;
  • Interface control of E&I subcontractors during the design phase;
  • Fabrication deviations process control;
  • Operational and Maintenance procedures coordination;
  • Individual case approval process (Zustimmung im Einzelfall - ZiE) for MP flange driving and Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) grating;
  • Foundation design certification process;
  • BSH approval process.
